so sometimes all yA need is a good marinade to have a meal kicked up a knotch. We are wanted to eat clean and keep things interesting in the kitchen and one of our most important cabinets is our spice cabinet that also holds all our oils and vinegars .
Here are two marinades we used this week that are go tos for us when we need quick easy meals
This is enough marinade for 2 pounds of steak. We have a meal for 2 and slice up the rest for salads or when we have the kids with us we cooker all up 🙂 it’s a really big hit.
Mix all together and pour into a ziplock with the steak and leave overnight 🙂
1/3 cup of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup of red wine
1/3 of Braggs liquid soya seasoning
1/4 cup of honey
1/2 tsp black pepper
This does about 4 chicken breast so it does a ton of chicken 🙂 yA only need about 1/2 a Breast for a souvlaki so you’ll have enough for 8 🙂 Either feed an army of kids like we do sometimes or, have leftovers for salads and wraps – which we also do!!
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp. Dried oregano
1/2 tsp. Sea salt, crushed
We cutting up the chicken into cubes and toss it in the marinade. We let it sit for at least 2 hours – actually when we do our food prep, if it’s on our menu plan we do it the night before.
For putting together the Souvlaki we get our pitas that are made here in NB…. So so so good when fresh and soft. We chop up onions, tomatoes and spinach and our Feta and Tzatziki sauce we also get from Costco. The sauce is made from Greek yogurt… Yum!
Enjoy!
